The 16th Welsh Stroke Conference will be held on Thursday 23rd & Friday 24th June 2016 at the All
Nations Centre in Cardiff. To start the conference off on day one,
there will be a research meeting. This session will focus on developing a career in stroke research and in particular it will concentrate on increasing recruitment
to clinical trials and enlarging the Stroke research portfolio in Wales. The afternoon will be split into two workshops – Stroke Syndromes and Special Scenarios and
Practical Challenges after Stroke.
The Welsh Stroke Conference is one of the biggest multidisciplinary conferences in the United Kingdom

Day two of the conference will have more sessions suitable for all multi disciplinary staff including a workshop on visual problems after stroke and a workshop
on the SSEF. A new addition to the program for this year will be a formal debate in the morning with a proposer and an opposer on the topic of 'Clot Retrieval
after Stroke – should cardiologists do this...?' This should provoke lively interaction from the floor.. The Bhowmick Lecture will be delivered by Professor
Bo Norrving from Sweden who is one of the father figures of modern stroke medicine. There will be the usual opportunity for presentations showcasing Welsh
Achievements. During lunch, delegates can visit the information and sponsor stands as well as participating in formal poster tours.
